Hopkins Accelerated/Traditional Applicant

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Greetings!

I just applied to Hopkins for the ED deadline. I am a male, went to a renowned college, studied chemistry/Italian, and am currently a health teacher in DC. I haven't taken my prereqs yet but plan on doing so next spring and the following summer. Any current students, what do you think my shots are like? Good luck everyone!

I was actually surprised when I received the email request for an interview. I was under the impression that only msn students would be interviewed. The website did not state that candidates for the absn/msn program would be interviewed as well. I think the best thing to do would be to call their admissions office tomorrow morning. That's the only way to know for sure.

Sera1987, it's only the people that applied for the bs/msn option that are interviewed. You can request an interview, but it's not necessary. All I did was send an application, spoke once to the admission office to change the status of my application to ED, and then they called me with my decision in December.

Pinkheart, I never interviewed, but I heard it's laid back and they want to answer your questions as much they want you to answer theirs.

Hopkins doesn't interview for the Accelerated/Traditional BSN. The only interview for the advanced degree programs.

Yep, interviews are for the MSN portion only. Or if you were applying separately for advanced degrees. If you applied only to the BSN, you shouldn't expect them to call, but you could always request an interview.

For those of you who applied early in previous years...how soon after your application was complete did you hear back about a decision? I know they say they will give you a decision by December 15th but my anxiety is taking a toll on me. I absolutely hate waiting. Especially for things like this. Reminds me of five y ears ago when I was waiting for college acceptances. My application was complete a little over 3 weeks ago (and I know they review early applicants on a rolling basis) so I'm hoping that I will hear back soon!

I think I found out less than a month after I sent my application. I turned my application after the due date for ED. I was going to do regular decision, but changed it to ED a week later so I didn't have to wait long in between. I think I got by decision Dec. 12-13ish.
