Hopefully entering the field...

Published

I'm a former elementary school/middle school teacher who later went to nursing school and have been in a pretty autonomous long term care community since I graduated. I have always wanted to get into community health and especially school nursing.

I am hopefully :nailbiting: going to make that dream come true here in the very near future. I've interviewed for a position at the school my kids went to (have one there for one more year). The principal called me to tell me to apply, this whole thing has been dropped in my lap, I didn't even know the position was being posted!

Now I have a second interview for it (and two other positions in the district-school is about to start, they're getting desperate...maybe that's why he's excited about me, lol ). I know I can handle the job. I am the only RN on shift on my unit at night, and I answer the needs of not just them, but the almost 300 people that live in our apartments who call us for emergencies, or accidentally, or because they misplaced their keys :bored:. I have to make quick decisions all the time.

I have been lurking here for weeks, finally joined and figured I'd introduce myself. This board seems filled with useful information and I look forward to what I can learn from you all!
