Hope someone can help me? I went for a shoulder operation. Stayed overnight in hospital, and had IV (had IV many times before). After the last bag (sorry, don't know what was in it) of fluid was empty, the nurse came to tie off the IV pipe. But here's what she did... She pinched the pipe between her fingers, starting at the bag's side, and quickly within no more than a second, emptied the pipe into my vein. It was hellishly sore. Even my ears were aching. She immediately apologized. Everything with the op went just fine till then, but now (5 days after), I still struggle with my head feeling swollen, puffy eyes in the morning, general state of feeling anxious, shaky and yes, my hand is still very sensitive where the IV was at. Is it just me becoming paranoid, or should I go to my MD?
