I am an LPN, currently on disability for sarcoidosis. I have 5 1/2 yrs. of experience, mainly in behavioral health. However, I've had about a yr. experience of geri-psych pts. where some med-surg skills were used. I have not worked in four years. I have just enrolled in a refresher course. I will be starting in two weeks. My course is for 10 weeks, with theory two days a week and two days of eight hr. clinicals. My total clinical time will be 120 hrs.

My goal is to get an agency job working home health. I like the fact that I will have only one pt. at a time. I am thinking agency, as I can choose not to take cases when I am not up to it. Most of the time I feel pretty good. However, I do have days where I feel exhausted. On my good days, I feel great. I know that I need plenty of rest. My heart is in nursing. I am looking to start out per-diem, then two days a week, then increasing to three. I plan on never working more than three days a week, as that is about my physical limitation. Am I being unrealistic with my goal?
