History

I am taking History 1 the one that goes from like 1400 to 1800 or something. Anyone have any tips? They pretty much said expect to read the whole book. I find this to be the driest, most boring class ever. I want to rip my eyes out. It's online and is 9 weeks. I am taking the second History class the second 9 weeks of this semester.

Don't look at is as the "driest, most boring class ever". History is fascinating!

I've learned that if you look at all those "stupid, required prereqs" as just some dumb requirement that you have to take to get your degree, you're going to be miserable and not enjoy any of it. Make it interesting! Be excited to learn! Positivity!

That is the mentality that made me get through the past two years :)

I prefer learning visually so for some classes like history I will search the library or the history channel online or YouTube for the title of the chapter and find a video that corresponds with the material. After watching it, I find it helps bring the material to life so later when I read my textbook I can picture the pilgrims or the Civil war or what not. Maybe this will work for you are well! (Just make sure you are watching something that is historically factual and not some Hollywood fictionalized version that will make up facts and confuse you on test day.) Best of luck in your class!

My Revolutionary War - Civil Wary history class required us to visit a museum. There was an amazing museum within 10 miles of my house that I'd never visited. I really encourage you if you have the opportunity. It's a great way to make the stories come alive.
