You may wish to attend an educational session of the Steering Committee on

Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics on Wednesday, October 6th , 3:30 pm -5:00 pm, Room 2105 Rayburn House Office Building regarding: "The "Healthy Community". The program will focus on ways health care technologies can be used to improve connectivity between health care providers and among community organizations. Several important government and private sector research and implementation projects will be discussed. (Light refreshments will be served)

The Steering Committee is working closely with the House 21st Century Health

Care Caucus; the eHealth Initiative (eHI); and the Healthcare Information

Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) on this important session to help

"connect the dots" regarding many of the issues addressed throughout 2004 by the Steering Committee. Speakers will be announced shortly.

Honorary Steering Committee Co-chairs are: Senators Kent Conrad (D-N.D.); Mike Crapo (R-ID); and Representatives Charlie Norwood (R-GA) and Rick Boucher (D-VA).

Capitol Hill sessions of the Steering Committee are educational in nature and

open to interested public at no cost. Please RSVP regarding the October 6th
