Hi guys pls help me, kaplan nclex pn or exam cram nclexpn?

Hello guys, I went to nursing school and graduated with ASN in 2010. I got engaged shortly after and had to move with with my husband, of course. :) Before nursing school I was a computer programmer so I did programming jobs after my graduation, and not nursing related jobs.

Now I am thinking of going into nursing so as not to waste my nursing education, and also in order to have a broader range of jobs to choose from..im just highly anxious because we need to move out and get a mortgage so I really need a good job.

I was at barnes and noble today, I was stuck between nclex pn -kaplan and another one nclex pn by exam cram. Exam cram looks interesting but i never heard of it before. I bought the kaplan one but I can return it in exchange for exam cram. I also got "essentials of anatomy and physiology" by scanlon and sanders, 6th edition.

Can anyone please help me which one to choose from? I am anxious and i really want to pass this..thank you in advance.

Given that you graduated with your ASN, are you not eligible for NCLEX-RN?

yes i am but i dont want to take the nclex-rn yet, i am unprepared for it and i dont have time or money to study or go to classes for the review. what i need right now is an instant option so i will have more broader scope in terms of looking for a job.

Are you sure you can sit for the NCLEX-PN? Obviously I don't know what your state requires but I know where I'm at the ASN & PN programs are slightly different and someone graduating from an ASN program wouldn't be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN.

That being said, I think a content review such as Saunders would be a good idea, as well as a test taking guide, such as Kaplan. I used Kaplan for the NCLEX-RN and my friend used Kaplan & Saunders for the NCLEX-PN. Good luck!
