HH Infusion or Occ Health?

Published

Looking for advise from those experienced with both areas. I currently have been FLEXI in HH infusion for 7 months. I have Onc background, but not HH. I had a horrible preceptor, which even my manager apologized for, but I was still on my own way too soon. For the most part, I’m enjoying the autonomy and learning new things however At 7 months, I’m driving @ 150 miles a work day, and still uncomfortable as I’m given Assignments I’ve never even seen done or haven’t seen since nursing school (flushing a nephrostomy tube or working with toddlers, wound care items) which makes me very stressed and worried about my license. I’ve spoken with my manager who says if I’m unsure she can have a nurse come out with me, but none is available when I have a need. Imagine that everyone is too busy with their own patients.
I have a job offer at a hospital occ health department. I just don’t know if that’s the direction to go or not. Looking at pay and growth opportunity as I become an older nurse. OR is it better to hang in there with infusion and give it more time. Thank you for feedback.
