Unfortunately, that is a college instituted decision. My college has HESI but you are not required to pass to graduate. Nice idea but it would probably be better time spent to petition your individual school and/or obtain evidence based data to back up why you believe this needs to change.
The material you are speaking of is not what is important. It is using your ABC's/maslow, all the skills you learned in nursing school on how to determine priority, that is how you answer the question you do not know the answer too...JUST like on the NCLEX. People say all the time that NCLEX covers areas they are unfamiliar with, meds they never heard of. Don't let it get you nervous. I tutor and tell people who have issues with exams not to get nervous and stressed when they get to a question they are clueless about. Stop and remember what you do know. Airway is before breathing, physiological before psychological, etc. When they did this it made a huge difference.
Good Luck!
How do you do that!!! When you have been to the Board of Directors and no one even hears you, you tell me where do you go from here!!! No one seems to hear you at all. Hesi material has not been taught in the curriculum, but you are being tested on material and specialty areas that are unknown. Hesi does not follow curriculum, but the NCLE does. What's up wiath that!!!!!
