Hesi Test

Nursing Students HESI

Published

Hi!

I have question regarding HESI test. This is my third time taking it and I failed again! Very frustrating.

I studied from the study guide and it cost me $40 just for the book. I found that the study guide is not helping, maybe just a little bit. There are only a little bit of information and not detail at all.

When I took the test today, I found some vocabulary questions that I wasn't able to find in the book. Since English is my second language, I found it very difficult and frustrating because I feel even though I already study it's a waste of my time.

I took A&P 1 and 2 and microbiology class as well. The good thing, if not maybe I will be so lost. I feel this test wanting me to fail so I have to take it again and again. I even study from different sources and I found other source has more information that the study guide book. What a waste of money buying the book.

What really annoyed me is that why this test is so hard for myself? I hope someone would like to share their experienced, and what did I do wrong. Why is it so hard? Why the test is not make sense at all. I feel like, I have study from other source not the book.

I'm sorry, I'm a little bit upset. I tried many sources and I still fail. I need 1.18 % to pass it, but it was so annoying that the study guide book from their website was not helpful to pass this test. The lady in my college recommended this book as well, but why waste money on this study guide book.

Please share your story? I'm just thinking to dropped everything and do something else.

I know I need to improve my English as well, but I just can't believe how tricky this test can be. And why do they even recommended to buy the book if the book itself doesn't have enough information we need to pass this test.

Thank you for reading and replying.

Hi Marceilla! Im so sorry that you are having such a hard time, but don't give up!! Can I ask which sections you aren't passing?

For me, the Elsevier book was extremely helpful, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. My biggest concern when taking the HESI was the Grammar and A&P sections. The book was helpful for Grammar and Vocab, but not so much for A&P. I also downloaded the Pocket Prep app for $14 and was a tremendous help! I suggest doing that and taking all the practice exams on it. I liked it because there are so many questions to practice with, that I felt like I was actually learning something, rather than memorizing the answers. Make sense? I took every possible practice test online, and I took them over and over, and the questions were always the same, so I ended up just memorizing the question and answer. So it didnt really teach me much. Hope this helps!
