HESI test scores!

Hi there, I am currently in the program and will be graduating this May. Those are really good scores! I think I averaged a 95% and made it. Just be sure to rock the written portion. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions!

It wasn't too hard. We were in two rooms with the other nursing candidates - 100 people or so, maybe a little less. But the questions were mainly behavior based and personal reflections.

Schedules vary each semester and as the semester progresses. First semester was a lot of time on campus in classes, then you add on clinical. Second semester I had class Monday thru Wednesday, then did clinicals overnight Wednesday night and Thursday night. The program is definitely a huge commitment.

I figured any nursing school would be a big commitment. 100 people that's crazy! I'm hoping I do well on the written then. I live in Westminster. Where did you do your clinical? I'm just worried about the driving. I will gladly do it. If I just want to know what to expect!

I live in Fort Collins and make the drive every week. Probably will be a tad bit longer for you. Clinicals are all over the place, but mainly in Greeley, Loveland, or Fort Collins. It all depends on what contracts the school has. Generally we were at either NCMC or MCR for our Med/Surg clinicals. We did have a optional location in Brighton for OB, but I don't know if that will continue to be available.

Honestly, its worth the drive. As the semesters progress you will spend less and less time in the classroom and more in the clinical setting, so it helps a little bit. You could always try to carpool!

That's good. I'm definitely going to try to find a carpool. Do most of your classes start at 8? Sorry for all the questions. You're the only person I have been able to talk to about the program!

Sorry to hijack the thread. I am going into my 4th semester at FRCC. I've only done clinicals at PVH, but will be doing my senior practicum at NCMC. Have you done clinicals there? What did you think of the hospital?

Shayna0629- Classes generally start at 0800 or 0930. Its nerve wracking trying to get into a new program, so feel free to ask away. I have no problems with questions. :)

Satori77- The culture at NCMC has done some shifting in the last few years, and they aren't always the *most* friendly/welcoming to students, but hopefully you get paired with nice nurses.

That's not too bad! Did you choose to do dual enrollment at UNC? And are there any extra applications or anything for it??

I did do the dual enrollment. As long as you have the prereqs and are in the AIMS program, its a shoe in. You just fill out another paper they give you when you go to do the written exam.
