I'm taking the hesi test in a month and I'm super nervous about it! I'm mostly worried about the reading comprehension and the vocab. I picked up the evolve book from my schools book store to review. Is the vocab similar to the one used in the book or is it more medical terminology? I'm so nervous just thinking about it makes me nervous. I'm horrible when it comes to taking standardize testing so any information will help!! thanks!!

I did awesome on the HESI and didn't study at all. It's pretty much like state standardized tests with questions tweaked toward nursing. Don't stress.

Study the test review book, you'll be right where you need to be.

I honestly didn't study at all for the HESI and still made a 94% overall. You should be fine if you just stick to studying the review book you have. I don't feel like they would make a study guide for the HESI A2 that was nothing like the test, right? I did the best on the math section. I remember it being a combination of basic math like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, customary to metric conversions, military time, and other stuff like that. The reading comprehension was similar to state standardized tests.. you read the short passage and have 10 or so questions to answer about the passage, then another short passage with another 10 questions to answer, and so forth. I don't really remember much about the vocab section. I think it was a combination of your standard SAT type vocab with some medical terminology thrown in. Some people have made some pretty good flashcards for the HESI A2 that you can access on Quizlet. Good luck!
