In Feb I took the HESI and got a 753 Well I just took it again yesterday and got a 879!!! I guess they say if you get >850 you are ready for boards. I graduate in May from a BSN program and I was just wondering how predictive this really is and if anyone got a similar score on their HESI and ended up passing boards?

Accredited schools have you take this test to see your ability to withstand the rigors of the final test you will be taking to obtain your nursing licensure. I know how anxious you must feel...I was in your shoes once, too. There will always be 2 answers you will automatically throw out, the other 2 you will have to use your theory to pick the BEST "right" answer. Believe me, you will see questions on the boards on subjects you never even covered in school, but you have learned to "build bridges" to come up with the answer. I passed my boards on the first attempt, I was flipping out when I left the testing center...I was sure I failed! You will be ok, just keep your head on straight and think clearly before you pick your answer. I had a lot of prioritization questions when I took the boards, only about 4-5 dosage questions. Don't over-study to take the boards, either. That is just going to stress you out. I think I did about 400 questions on my home computer after I graduated before I took it. Best of luck to you, drop me a line after you take it and let me know how well you did!:wink2:

Use suzanne 4's plan and you will be fine....
WHAT I DID:
Use the Saunders NCLEX prep book. Answer all the practice quizzes BEFORE reviewing the chapters. If you get a 75% or less on the practice quiz for that chapter (topic area) make sure that you review those Saunders chapters carefully...
I passed with 75 questions...
When you take the test put your patient care hat on...
