Hi guys!
I am new to allnurses, but I always get on here and read threads so I decided to start an account. I need to take the HESI entrance exam soon and I was just interested in any pointers or tips. Also, any study materials that you recommend, I am looking to buy a study guide soon. The only nursing entrance exam I have ever taken was the TEAS and I am not sure if this is anything like that. I have read mixed reviews, some say its hard and some say it was not bad so I am a little nervous. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to hearing responses!

I just took the HESI it wasn't too hard for me definitely study your conversions for the math portion. I got the review book from Elsevier who makes the exam. It was really helpful! its called HESI admission assessment exam review. I don't know anything about the TEAS but the HESI was relatively easy for me so don't worry! You get a basic calculator on the computer for the math portion. Just study and you'll do great. Hope this wasn't too late and helps. I also got a book with some extra practice tests by Mcgraw hills. This helps you see how much time it will take but the practice questions in the Elsevier book were much like the test.

I would get the Elsevier review book too. And know how to solve for X in math. I think my entire math section was to solve for X! LOL
Thanks guys so much I really appreciate your help! It definitely was not too late to respond because I am going to ask my mom for that study book for Christmas lol! Thanks again!

You will be fine! I started studying out of the Elsevier book about three weeks before my test. I just got back my results today and got a 96%. The book covers every topic very well! Make sure you know the conversions for the math section. Best of luck to you!
