Has anyone attended Herzing College for their Associates in Medical Assisting?? Apparently the program is online, the only offline part is clinicals. I'm really trying to find ways to get my foot in the door, and while it sounds like a great program its quite expensive. The admissions advisor was telling me I should think about obtaining my Bachelors in Health Information Technology but even with the 20% military discount, the tuition is like $40,000 (I think it was more, I just remember 40 and thousand). Before I commit to anything, I would like feedback from anyone who has attended the online program. Also does having an associates make it easier to get into nursing school? The advisor was telling me that having a Bachelors will put me at the top of the list when I apply to nursing school.

Well, medical assistants don't get paid much above minimum wage, and you technically don't even need a degree or license to function as a medical assistant. I would hesitate to put any money into a degree that is going to only allow you to make 12 dollars an hour. As far as the Health Information Bachelors- what would you do with that degree? If you only want to get it because you think it will help you get into nursing school, I wouldn't do it. Too much money.
