my 70 yo dad has blood in his urine and his abdomen is becoming distended, i cant leave work to go see him at the er but im trying to think of the possible reasons.
i know it could be as simple as a bruised kidney or also as serious as kidney cancer, but i cant fit the distention into the puzzle.
any suggestions?

Wouldn't the most appropriate suggestion be that he needs to see a medical professional now, for a proper assessment?

Yes, he needs to see a physician. We cannot offer medical advice on this forum, as it is beyond the scope of our practice as nurses and students.
Wishing the OP's father well.
