Hey, I just got my PSB scores back today and I completely bombed the nonverbal part, so I'm with you on that. I dont even know what the nonverbal part was, do you? Let me know how you did the second time around, because as things are looking now, I will probably have to a wait to retake it next december

First of all I am sorry that you have had a negative experience with the PSB exam. I scored pretty highly on all sections of the PSB (I was in the 99th percentile for reading, the 97th for science, the 90th for math, the 99th for career aptitude, and the 93rd for non-verbal). As far as math is concerned, just review simple math. Review fractions, simple algebra, proportions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Do online practice problems, and try to find a PSB review book (you should be able to buy them at Barnes and Noble). As for the non-verbal, I don't have any real words of wisdom for you. Non-verbal has a lot to do with seeing patterns in things and figuring out what comes next in the sequence. Some PSB review books have a section on patterns, and some don't. Look for a book that covers non-verbal reasoning. If you can't find anything, do a Google search about the non-verbal section of the PSB. You may come up with something useful. Personally I don't understand what the point of the non-verbal section was, as nursing has nothing to do with mentally manipulating boxes and patterns, but such is the game one must play to gain acceptance to a nursing program. Study hard and don't get discouraged. Some people who got into my nursing program this year had taken the PSB more than five times. It just goes to show that persistence, and continued self-study, pays off in the long run. Good luck!
