HELP! Where are the jobs at???

Good evening. I am in a pickle. I live in the Hampton Roads area and from what I have heard AND from what I have experienced NO hospitals and local businesses are hiring NEW graduate nurses!! Most want two years experience. There are all types of RN jobs, but NONE... I mean NONE for new grads. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYWHERE LOCALLY HERE THAT IS HIRING NEW GRADS.??? I had two interviews, one with Bon Secours and one with Riverside. I have not heard back from either since the initial interview. Both interviews seemed to go very well. I have called both to follow-up and neither of the interviewers have called me back. Ok.. if you don't want me OR are not hiring, that is fine, but at least a return call or something would be nice. :icon_roll I am in the top of my class too.... ugh. If anyone knows of anyone hiring new grads.... could you PLEASE let me know. I thank you very much!! :bowingpur

Unfortunately, is the same situation here. LPNs are being laid off, and the only new grades being hired are BSN or MSN graduates and none who have an ASN or ADN.

I'm sorry, but I have heard it all over the place. I am here in NoVA - outside DC.

Hi Tami. I am a BSN also with a previous BS. So I have two degrees. I have applied to probably at least 12 different RN jobs. I do have an interview coming up for a state RN job, which is wonderful, but I'm sure there are plenty of others also interviewing for it. I am just scared because my finances will run dry by July. So I HAVE TO GET SOMETHING. I have even called out of state. Heyish!! I have been trying to secure a job since JANUARY. I never in a million years thought I'd get my RN degree and NOT be able to FIND A JOB! Crazy!!!

I know up here in the DC area they are ONLY hiring RN's with BSN's so you would have a better chance here... I am not sure about other places though....
