Hi, I live in Robert, and am attending Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans,,depending on your goals,,BSN,ADN, or LPN is your 1st thing to consider. I'm 51 and knew a BSN would take too long, and am already LPN,,so Charity was perfect for me. The commute is challenging, but I love the school, instructors and am getting to see so much at the hospitals across the lake. Good luck on your choices...:yeah:

Don't know where Folsom is, but in Baton Rouge you have a choice between Southern, Our Lady of the Lake, Baton Rouge General, Baton Rouge CommunityCollege, and Southeastern in Hammond. Those all offer degrees for being an RN and some also have LPN programs. There probably are others in the area that offer LPN. Also LSU in Alexandria has a nursing program as well. If getting paid quickly is an issue for you, consider an associates program for RN, if not, go for BSN or LPN is a good way to go to be sure you even like it. There is a huge misconception about what nurses do and becoming an LPN would be a good way to learn without investing too much in education, in as far as time. If you love it there are also multiple programs to matriculate from an LPN to an RN. I really wouldn't stress too much about which school you attend, when it comes down to it they are all about the same, everyone has alot of negative stuff to say. It has been my experience that some of the best and some of the worst nurses I know have all graduated from varying schools, it just depends on the person. Getting into a nursing program is so competetive, it really becomes irrelevant. They are all about the same. Good Luck!!
