Help! Taking Excelsior CPNE

I am about to take the Clinical area of Excelsior and am very frightened. I know there used to be places in Texas and a couple of other states, but now on the website, I only see 3 NY, Georgia, and Wisconsin. Are there any tips on taking the clinical.

If you contact eiether of the 3 testing sites they can refer you to the exact state/town/hospital where the cpne will be conducted. you can also look on the excelsior.edu website. I am registered to take the cpne in albany new york at the end of this month. I too am terrified.

The failure rate on the Excelsior CPNE is approximately 35-36%.

The CPNE in Excelsior is so structured so as to minimize instructor bias and inadvertent errors on the part of the student.

As I remember it, two of the three clinicals must be passed in order to pass the CPNE.

As I remember it, every clinical is monitored by a different instructor.

This helps to minimize instructor bias.

Of course, despite all of the above, circumstances out of the instructors and/or students control may result in clinical failure.

My suggestion to you is to relax during the clinical and do your best knowing that the clinical may be taken over again.

As gruelly suggested, I think you're looking at the list of regional performance assessment centers (RPAC's) rather than a list of test sites. RPAC's are the places that process CPNE applications and schedule students and examiners at various facilities.

For example, if you want to test at one of the Texas sites (Plano or Amarillo last time I checked), you would apply to the RPAC in Wisconsin I think. That RPAC also controls the WI test sites and maybe others.

Your best bet for passing the NCLEX is to develop some strong stress management techniques.
