Good day, Onthefence1913:
While BSN is a good end route, going to a community college for your associate and getting your RN that way will probably save you a lot of money.
Thank you.
That's a huge career change. Why do you want to switch? You are going to have a problem getting financial aid since you already have 1 degree. I agree with pmabraham that going the community college route would probably be best for you financially. I would research the schools in my area and go from there. There is a lot to consider when choosing a school. Money, competitiveness, and NCLEX pass rates. Have you even started looking at schools yet?
If you're still dipping into the idea, you should get your STNA/CNA first. If you are still into the idea of nursing and plan to stick with it the rest of your career, you should look into a second degree BSN program. My local college has a second degree program and it ideally takes only 13 months to complete, which would make an ASN a waste of time if you know you want to be a nurse.

I graduated a month ago with my B.A. in English and i've decided that Nursing is the career path i'd like to take. What would be the best route to take?(BSN,etc.) I honestly need to work while I attend school. Im in Tennessee.
