Yes I am a new grad, but any and all information would be helpful.
I am wondering the types of patients seen in the ICU (heart, lung, DKA etc)
Is this a good place to work? from my tour and run through I thought it was great!
Do you feel you are given opportunites for growth?
I have lots of questions and am very willing to talk one on one if you want
Thank you!
I know many people that work their and they have stated that they love their job, the ICU is a very hard job to land as a new grad and it will be a great experience, I'm am about to start RN clinicals in the fall 2016. The pay for new grad is 22.30 for a new grad with night and weekend differential pay.
Trauma center designation is based on a number of factors - some of which are barely relevant to patient care. Its not an indicator of the quality of the nursing environment, particularly for a new grad looking for the right place to launch his/her career. Point for consideration - Trauma Center designation incurs a much higher financial risk for unreimbursed care. In light of the precarious state of LA state financials, it may prove to be a huge liability.
