Help, returning to hospital after 2 years out of bedside

Updated:   Published

Looking for info and advice.

Spent about 2 years CPCU/CICU as an RN plus PCT experience. Our CPCU also transformed COVID ICU. Had to leave for several reasons. Doing much better now and excited to return but it's looking extremely challenging.

Am I going to have to 'relearn' and go through a similar new grad orientation? I've had one interview with a HR and she said I would which is why I'm asking is this the standard.

I live in Dallas and would only want to work at ideally UT Southwestern but maybe Baylor but I can't do night shift, my whole life and mental health falls apart.

I am only seeing night shift being posted for almost all jobs, why??

Is this a new thing it's that hard to find day shift jobs? Obviously especially bc want cardiac PCU or cardiac ICU

Would any manager allow me to 'relearn' or go through small orientation on day shift?
