Howdy! Welcome to my town.
I strongly urge you to engage the services of a professional Realtor to help you find the right place to live. Here is a good site to start - you can explore the characteristics of various neighborhoods. Fair warning - apartment rents have skyrocketed over the last year so you may actually discover that renting a house would be a better option.
Since your hun will be working in the TMC, you may want to take a look at the 288 corridor... straight shot all the way from TMC to Pearland. There is a wide variety of housing available in that area and the commute is not horrendous. It's also pretty close to major sports and entertainment venues. You've picked a great time to relocate - avoiding hurricane season & the triple-digit summer months.
Hi! Don't know how much help I can be, as I'm looking to move toward Houston myself.
I've been in touch with a realtor from the Pearland area; it's true that it's a popular location with Texas Medical Center employees. Upscale and modern, yet family-friendly for raising kids (so I gather, never had kids myself).

Another resource is Houston Newcomer Guides http://www.houstonnewcomerguides.com/ they publish several guides for different areas of the city -- the "Texas 288 South" edition will include Pearland.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck!
I actually work in pearland which is a hop and a skip away from the Texas medical center and they have BEAUTIFUL 4 bedrooms in your price range!! Look at homes.com and make sure to select the for rent filter and u can use a map feature to pin point what houses are available in your desired location. I'm actually thinking of moving to pearland myself it's nice!

Hello everyone,
My wife just got a job offer from Memorial Hermann which she accepted already.
We have to be in Houston by first week of November so I was wondering if anyone could help us with a decent place to live for a decent price. We visited there maybe like 5 months ago but we don't know the area much so any help and advice would be helpful. My wife doesn't want to spend more than $1100 for an apartment 2 bedroom/2 bath and about $1300 for a house ( rent) We are not looking to buy a house now and we have a 2 and half year old little girl. We would like a location that is close to the Medical center since that's where she'll be working or a place she can get on the rail or something. Thank you so much for all the help, really appreciated.
