HELP :( really depressed about school lately.

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Well i have been stuck at saint louis community college doing pre reqs for the past 2 years (the advisors pretty much screwed me, so i havent even taken any nursing classes yet or got on the waiting list) i still need chemistry (which im going to take in fall) to get on the waiting list.

all of my friends are graduating right now, being graduate nurses, and im stuck behind still having atleast another 3 or more years left, its hard for me not to feel alone.

(although the friends did start school a year or more before me)

Is it wrong that i am jealous that their all done and i havent even started? :(

I think it's normal to be a bit jealous but you can't compare your progress to someone elses. I look at it this way 2 or 3 years is going to pass by whether I'm in school or not. I'd rather be working towards my dream than not doing anyhting at all

I was a bit jealous at times, because most of my friends graduated with their bachelors back in 2008 and I'm 28 and just applied to my BSN program. However, none of them have children and I have a 7 year old and plan to get married as soon as school is finished. Now, they're looking for the family thing so I may have done it backwards but I'm very happy!!

I feel your pain! I was the same way... My advisor screwed me up for almost a year putting me in classes other than science and when i finally got started i was almost a year behind...My community college had a fast track a&p program( which is a&p 1&2 in one semester) and I didn't get in ( which I am now thankful for) but I was so angry and jealous because all my friends were ahead of me! I just took a deep breath and said it is what it is... I just graduated from my community college with an associate of science- magna cum laude @ 34 with 3 kids and first in my family to graduate from college I'm pretty proud of myself. You can do it!! It is frustrating at times but don't give up. It is definitely a waiting game....and now here I sit waiting to see if I am going to get accepted to the bachelor program @ the university of Texas... Good luck to everyone!!
