I just switched from business to Nursing and I'm scared about the entrance exam.Pre-entrance exam for NLN is it hard, what should I know and is there some place online I can study for free? I can't afford the study book along with the classes if I do pass. Also, after I become an LPN I was going to go back to be an RN is that a good Idea?

I don't know any on line studying but, there are NLN books that may possibly be borrowed from the library for you to study. It seems to cover reading, science and math. I was not good in math, so, when I took it years ago, I failed it. But, if I had tutoring for the math for an extended period of time, I would have probably done better. Since then, I did become an LPN, but the NLN was not required for that course.

I don't see how going to become an RN after being an LPN would be a bad idea; there would be more job opportunities and pay. What I usually tell people to do (and some schools offer this as an assignment), is to interview both, LPNs and RNs to see if nursing is the career for you. You can create a list of questions to ask. Posting them here is a good idea, but I would also seek out people you may actually know. Questioning your peers is a great advantage because in many cases, peers think similarly to us, and seeing their perspective and their lifestyles might give you better insight if this is the career choice for you.
