Help PLEASE

Hi Everyone, I recently graduated from Thomas Jefferson's ASN-BSN(i'm done the ASN portion) and I've been searching for a job endlessly. I feel lost. I don't know what to do. Everyone wants experience, etc. Does anyone have any resume pointers or any other helpful tips like places to apply to in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area?? Any places I could volunteer to as an RN?? I sound like a begger though I'm really not. It's just with each passing day I feel like everything I've learned in clinical goes further away from me....any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and girls.:uhoh3:

Any help...please??

When I graduated in 2009, I went through the same thing. I finally got a position in a LTC facility, but in the

sub -acute rehab unit. I hate to say it, but my Dad knew someone who worked there and they handed in

my resume. Things are really bad out there......it took me 9 months of interviews to get that position . I even interviewed in a doctor's office !!!! You need to get clinical experience no matter what !! I was even going to volunteer for an town ambulance corp for clinical experience !!!

Jeez...this doesn't sound to good...I just don't get it. You work your butt off and then can't get a job. Well, thank you for your response, and how do you find out about volunteer work? Are there any websites?

Do NOT be a nurse in NJ.There are no jobs, the working conditions are horrendeous, the nurse managers are the brutal worst- fire for the the least little whim. There are jobs for nurses advertised in NJ- but they don't really exist.- Well know fact. These jobs are posted to dress up the websites for the Labor Board. Go be a nurse in another state.

Try going to the town you live in local volunteer ambulance corp and see if they need volunteers, or towns close by to where you live. And try the LTC facilities and doctor's offices, even if they don't pay well. I'm from North Jersey so I don't know what jobs are opened down there, I know Kimball Medical center(part of Saint Barnabas) had some of job openings recently. I don't know if you're near there. Hang in there, I know it's daunting, I'm trying to cross over into a hospital now, and even with almost 2 years experience in a rehab center - I'm having trouble. :crying2: They say, well it's not hospital experience, well the hospitals wouldn't hire me straight out of nursing school !!!

Good Luck !!!! :nurse:
