HELP painful ostomy

Ok my fiance had an illeostomy done it is revirsable but while he has it on it is very painful. does anyone have any home remedies w/o having to change the bag so often? Also any nurses living in the state of New Jersey can any one tell me of a hospital in the Union County region that has a surgical clinic?
