Help... New Grad Interview tomorrow

Does anyone care to share any RN New Grad L&D, Postpartum, NICU interview questions they either ask when hiring or have been asked when they were interviewed? It could be on any of the 3 units I mentioned because they place new grads where they feel they fit best (if selected).

I have an interview tomorrow and I REALLY want this position more than any other new grad program. Any other related suggestions or tips for this interview!!!! I've heard they will be asking scenario questions.

(Hope I posted this in the correct forum)

I just accepted a labor and delivery internship (YAY)! :) But here's a few I was asked along the way:

Tell us about yourself. (Ughh.. the worst, how much to divulge? What do they really want to know?)

Why L&D?

Did you always know that you wanted to work in this unit?

Tell me about a bad day at your last job.

Tell me about a conflict that you had with a former coworker and what you did about it.

How do you handle conflict with patients?

What are your short and long term goals?

If you could have dinner with 3 people living or dead, who would it be and why?

Why did you leave your other jobs?

Describe yourself in 3 words.

What kind of preceptor would be the best fit for you?

What would you do if a coworker asked you for help and you were busy?

And the most important: Do you have any questions for us? Prepare. Read about the hospital. Form sincere questions about tuition reimbursement, certifications, goals for the unit (For L&D, I asked about their baby friendly status or goals for the future, and patient ratios.) Remember your worth and value to them. You are looking for a fit too, make sure they are right for you! :)

Good luck!

I love to ask about your most difficult patient and why it was...best day and why and how you would deal with a difficult staff member, doctor or family member. Gives me a sense of where your head (and heart) is.
