Looking for help.
I've decided to make a career change from corporate America to the nursing field. I need to continue to work so I will have to take classes at night. I'm generally a good student but have been out of school for 10 years.
I looked into Mass Bay CC which is the least expensive and seems to have good reviews. It's about 20 minutes from my house
Does anyone know if there is a waitlist there? I will need to do my prereq before I even apply to the nursing program.
My other option is QCC which I believe has a very long waitlist and a really good reputation. I really wanted to finish in 3 years as opposed to dragging it out to about 5 which I'm afraid will happen at QCC. In that case I could probably get a BS instead of just a AS
Wondering if anyone has any insight to either of these schools and what your suggestions are.
I have a bachelors in management so only my English and Math courses will transfer. Not sure an accelerated program would be right for me.

I made the same change, and I have to admit at first it was very difficult. I put it off for two years waiting for the perfect time, taking classes here and there, and was unsatisfying. What it took in the end, was resigning from work and devoting everything to school, and I am so much happier for it. You can make it work to go full time, commit to it!
My pedi professor also teaches at QCC as well as my OB professor, and both are fantastic teachers. If the rest of the faculty at QCC is anything like them, it much be a great program. The only thing that I would question about community schools is clinical placement: can you get it, where is it, etc. I would also ask about the NCLEX 1st-time pass rate for the program.
Perhaps other here might be able to speak to the clinical part of these programs....

If you have a Bachelors Degree already, why wouldn't an accelerated program be right for you? 14 - 18 months after pre-reqs rather than possibly a 3 - 5 year slog to eventually get to the same place? Just sayin'....
