And, you won't, shena. This is a state to state thing. Go to your own states' BON and you will probably be able to download the SOC/Nurse Practice Act.

Thanks for your information. I had already located the Ohio Standards of Care but she also requires us to have the National Standards of Care, that is interesting that I cant access it. I dont know how to handle that, but thanks so much for your help.

Perhaps your instructor meant the Code of Ethics for Nurses With Interpretive Statements, which was formulated by the House of Delegates of the ANA. You can view this important document online at the following:

There are national standards for certain areas of nursing. But, no national standards for the overall practice of nursing. This is as I said, a state to state thing. I agree with VickyRN; maybe she was wanting you to get code of ethics?

Look up the Ohio Board of nursing using google. Then either print them off from the web site, or cal the BON and ask them to mail you a copy....
Shena,
Check out your first thread about this (1-25). I gave you a link to the Ohio BON to obtain the SOC.

Also, go to the ANA (American Nurses Association) and see if you can find anything there that might be what your instructor wants.
