NCLEX Date for 2/24
Plan to have all the QBank questions done for Kaplan by then, as well as all the QT and CATs and etc.
Question Trainer 1 - 48%
Question Trainer 2 - 60%
Question Trainer 3 - 61%
P.S. I had to do these as part of my semester before graduating so honestly, those scores aren't accurate.
--------------------------------------
Question Trainer 4 - 53%
Question Trainer 5 - 44%
Question Trainer 6 - 51%
CAT 1 - 114Q Green dot (yellow on all topics)
CAT 2 - 145 Q Red dot (yellow on most, red on Management of Care & Basic Care and Comfort)
RN NCLEX Sample Test 1 - 50%
My overall performance on Kaplan is at a 55%. I'm reviewing all the questions, writing everything down. I've listened to NCLEX High Yield and in the process of going through Mark K lectures on Youtube.
But I feel like my brain is scrambled/scrambling. I'm twisting my lab values left and right, can't create the thought process through S/S of diseases.
My husband essentially says I can only take it once. I have a job offer lined up that will allow me to take it twice (fail once). He's been supporting us financially for over 3 years now. I'll need to find a full time job if I fail the first time to help him with the finances. Doesn't mean I can't take the NCLEX again, but I'll have a lot less time to do so. I have an insanely ornery 1 and a half year old boy who won't let me do anything until he sleeps for the night. So I get 2-4 hours of studying a day.
My husband is also a very logical/statistics guy. He saw that the passing rate of the NCLEX the first time was like 86.7 something % and 42.something% the second time and says that if I don't pass the first time then I probably won't pass the second time. Currently as I am, do I have a shot of passing the NCLEX? The Kaplan instructor at our school said that 60% is the magic number on Kaplan tests for passing the NCLEX.

The Kaplan review is the best thing that helped me. Of course, that was over 25 years ago! I disagree with your husband - sorry. I did pass my first time (even though, after the test, I could have sworn I failed!). But, I know many nurses who have taken the test 2-3 times before passing. One of the best things Kaplan taught me was test prep. That had to do with how to take a test. For example, if there are 4 options in the mulitiple choice, immediately rule out two. You then have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Sounds silly, I know. It works! Good luck to you! Please don't get discouraged. That stress will not help! ?

My 75-question Kaplan Q Bank scores were low 50s to low 60s consistently, but never below 50. I passed NCLEX in 75 questions.
So even though Kaplan wants you to get over 60%, I think you are probably fine as long as you're consistently scoring above 50% on the Q Bank questions.
