Hello all,
I've been working towards Nursing for a very long time, too long! I currently have all my pre-regs completed. My science GPA is 2.34, not great I know. My TEAS score suffered significantly, I got a 69%, what really harmed me was the math portion of the test. I get horrible math anxiety, and it's never been my strong subject. That all being said, I was on the waitlist and approved ( I had to file an appeal for my science GPA, it was accepted) at my local community college. I was waiting for entry, along with a few friends. We all had very similar TEAS scores and GPAs. My friends got accepted into the Spring 15' program, my one friend in particular was just a few spots ahead of me on the list, so I felt pretty confident that if I didn't get an acceptance letter for the Spring 15' that I would definitely get it for the Fall 15' program. Fast forward to summer, I get a letter in the mail saying I no longer qualify to stay on the waitlist, that new program requirements are being implemented for the Fall 15' program, and that the Spring 15' program was the cutoff for the old requirements. I was devastated, to say the least. I had been working to get to that point for a little over 2 years! I live in CA and most nursing programs are so heavily impacted, that the whole process takes that much longer.
So, having said all of that. I am now in a situation where I feel like I have to look at more unconventional options to get to my goal! I am looking for any input or advice any of you may have. I currently have my application at a different community college close to me, I meet all their requirements. Their system is based off of merit/lottery. My chances aren't great considering my GPA, but still a chance. I also, have an application in for an LVN program at the same college that I got rejected from, I figured I can just do the bridge over option to the RN program. Both are viable options, but I won't find out the results for either until May. I am wanting to prepare myself for the worst, in the event I don't get into either program. I am going to be putting in an application for the Respiratory Therapy program, which I am really interested in and having been doing a lot of research on.
I am at the point where I need to get going. I have been working towards this goal for far to long and am getting so discouraged. If any one can offer some advice or has any input or new ideas for me... I am all ears!!
Thank you all for you time!

Welcome to AN! Have you contacted any admissions advisors at schools for information on how you could make yourself a better applicant?
@Rose_Queen: Hello, and thank you! I have contacted and had a few conversations with both schools. I am planning to re-take my micro class, and as long as I get a 'B' in the class, minimum, that will really bring up my science GPA. Other than doing that, I'm not entirely sure what else to do.
Thank you very responding!
