Help with Learning Meds

Nursing Students General Students

I am a student nurse who will graduate in May. I am doing well in school, but my big weakness is remembering all the meds that I need to know for exams. It just doesn't seem to stick with me.

Any suggestions or ways that work for you would be most appreciated. There has got to be something out there that will work for me. HELP PLEASE!

P.S. This forum post is an assignment, so any help would be very much appreciated.

Specializes in Med Surg, Specialty.

Do you have specific lists of medications that you need to know for exams? Or is it that you just generally need to know the "most common" medications and no lists are given to you? If it is the former, flashcards work great. If it is the latter, I'd suggest getting an NCLEX book and studying the chapter concerning medications.

I'm not sure that there is ANYWAY to learn all those meds!!!! If you can make up mnemonics it may help. If not FLASHCARDS!!! They are probably the best way.
