I've read through half of the really long ISU thread and didn't find the info I was looking for.. so please forgive me if this has already been answered. Maybe this will help other people like me who may have the same question.
I had an advisor from TCN come over to my house today, I just wanted the list of pre-preq's and then I'm going to find whatever I can on ebay before buying through them. Anyhow, I'm in Texas and ISU isn't accepted by the BON here. I'm moving to California in about a month so I'm safe, but he brought the folder over for Angelo State LVN-BSN program (which is accepted in TX) and didn't have any information for ISU.
Long story a little less long, from what I understand I can test out of all the pre-req's and general ed. stuff but different subjects require different tests (i.e. CLEP, DANTE, Excelsior etc.) Does anybody have a list of the subjects I have to test out of before applying to the school and what subject has what test? And possibly what can be tested out of while I'm doing nursing courses? For example:
Microbiology: CLEP
Pharmacology: Excelsior
I hope that makes sense! I'd appreciate any help I can get! He suggested I just contact another advisor once I get to California and they can sit down with me, but I'd like to get a jump start on getting all the books/study materials I can get.

The list of subjects can be found at the ISU web site under Plan of Study. Click on that link in the little blue box on the right hand side of the page once you get to the LPN to BSN page. I posted the direct link the other day in another thread.
Here is the link: http://www.indstate.edu/nursing/programs/bs/lpn-bs/lpn-bs.htm. Once you get to this page, click on the Plan of Study link in the blue box on the right.
Thank you. I really wanted to know what subject goes with what test though. Can I just buy any study material for the tests or would I need a certain book for a certain test?
The College Network publishes study guides for the nursing tests to be tested out of. I have read that people buy these study guides used from other students and on ebay. I would also look for any study material on the subject matter of the test, e.g. maternal nursing, peds nursing, cardiac, psych, etc. The test subject matter should be standardized, so any study material will give you the concepts you need to know.
Thank you so much, you're absolutely wonderful!!!!!
