As I read more of the posts, I'm getting more anxious. WHEN SHOULD I TAKE THE TEST? Some people say study, some say take it right away b-cuz you either know it or you don't....I am awaiting authorization to test so should I do it at the first available date or take time to do practice questions...HELP!!!!

I would ttake it right away. you got thru nursing school, right? Do it while it is fresh. For me its, "the sooner the better". I need to start working soon, I "got bills to pay"...lol :chuckle

I recommend that you use this time while you are waiting to study, then when you get your ATT, you will have studied, and you will be well prepared. Take it on one of the closest dates, but maybe not the very first one. That date could be the day after you receive the ATT! It just depends. BUt take it sooner, rather than later. While it is still fresh.

I agree that I would take it as soon as I could. You can always do the practice tests but if you know it, you know it! Remember to trust your first instincts when you take the test. Do not second guess yourself and then ponder it over. I hit the enter key twice once I made my choice so I did not change my mind. I only took 75 questions and I was done. I passed, and was sooooooo glad it was over.
Good luck to you!!

Do what you feel most comfortable with. I studied HARD. I think to just go in and take the test right away would be a mistake. If you failed you would feel as if you did not do everything you could to pass. I would give yourself some time to study. If you are a person who studied a lot in nursing school, you should probably study a lot for NCLEX. The test is expensive, so don't just go take it. Take your time and feel comfortable. I studied really hard for about 2 1/2 weeks, scoring at least 65% on Kaplan before I felt ready to take the test. I got 75 questions and passed, best feeling in the world! Good luck!
