Hi, I am about to graduate from the ADN program and need to interview one RN with less than 3-5 years experience. If any of you new RNs see this thread, could be please answer these questions.
1.Number of years in nursing
2.Area of nurse's experience
3.Length of orientation at first job
4.Did orientation as new grad meet with your expectations? Provide rationale for answer
5.Who id you feel assisted you the most during the first year?
6.Your current level of job satisfaction on a 0-10 scale with 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. List rationale for your score.
7.Cite 3 positive experiences that you have had with nursing as a profession

4.did orientation as new grad meet with your expectations? provide rationale for answer yes, i felt like i could ask anything. i requested one more week of orientation and they were glad to give it to me. my preceptor and nurse manager were exceptional and helped me out tons!
5.who id you feel assisted you the most during the first year? my preceptor and other rns i worked with.
6.your current level of job satisfaction on a 0-10 scale with 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. list rationale for your score. probably a 7. i have bad days, but for the most part this is a good hospital job. other rn's are very supportive and the work environment is positive. also, the turnover rate on our floor is very low. each nurse has been there at least two years.
7.cite 3 positive experiences that you have had with nursing as a profession the rewarding feeling you get at the end of the day; that feeling of pride and accomplishment when you do something you're afraid of and you did it well; being able to collaborate with other professionals for the good of your patient and being that advocate they need.

5.who id you feel assisted you the most during the first year? experienced nurses on my units, as well as friends who graduated with me.

7.cite 3 positive experiences that you have had with nursing as a profession truly my orientations have been great, and seeing people get better with your nursing tlc.

3.Length of orientation at first job: this is my first job....6 weeks
4.Did orientation as new grad meet with your expectations? Provide rationale for answer: Yes, but was harder than I thought since I had already worked at the facility
5.Who did you feel assisted you the most during the first year? My colleagues and supervisor
6.Your current level of job satisfaction on a 0-10 scale with 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. List rationale for your score. 10, for the first time in my life I love my job. Scary, but even the bad day I'm happy with my choice. It took me 37 years to get here.
Making someone's day better, seeing a longtime patient go home, being able to actually help my colleagues.
