Help I Failed!

I failed the AANP exam and just can't feel good...I am very depressed...any advice out there?? :crying2:

sounds like daisy's advice covered all bases. best of luck on retesting. there will be many people thinking of you and hoping for the best. as a future test taker to become an np, i have what many be a silly question. what is the difference between the ancc exam and the aanp exams? does it play any role in your job search by taking one over the other? are there different certifying exams for a fnp like the anp?

the ancc certification is supposed to be more respected and i'm not sure why - i just remember my professors telling us that. i took the ancc anp and gnp exams and they were definitely more difficult than the aanp fnp exam. when i took the gnp exam, there was something like a 60% pass rate at that time and it was definitely more difficult than the anp exam. i think the more specialized certifications are tougher. with the fnp exam, they just kinda "skim the surface", but the gnp exam is more in depth.

Just my "two cents worth" but from what I understand, the AANC test is based on research type questions and the AANP tests are geared more towards practice. So it would be up to you in regards to how comfortable you are with each type of "nursing". :)
