HELP!How can I transition from psychiatric nursing to any medically related nursing?

I've been working in an acute psych hospital for 8 months now. I've been trying to apply for jobs that are more medically related, such as peds or med/surg but most of these jobs require experience in the related field. My first job was in a SNF, then I got this psych job. I dont know how else to make myself look like I am able to do med/surg. I try applying to all the Staff Nurse I positions since they require less experience, but don't seem to catch a break with an interview. I even have my PHN license and ACLS. I'm not sure what else I can do and I'm looking for some advice. I'm starting to lose hope and fear that I will be stuck in psych forever. HELP!
