Help. Home Heath. Expired. new opportunity!!

Published

Going to try and make a long story short. I obtained my STNA license in June 2014. I worked for a home heath agency for about 6 months. To my knowledge I did not think my license was going to expire because I worked the 8 hours in the two day period as the Nurse Aid Registry requires. The home heath agency never put in the system that I did in fact work for them so... I called and asked if they could put my information in so I could be renewed. Since the last I worked there they have been bought out by another company so they are saying they will not be able to find my files to prove I did in fact work there. Does that sound right? Would my files just go away? Even if the new company has many of the same clients? Lastly I recently had an interview for a multi skilled tech because I also have my phlebotomy, Ekg ,CPR and First Aid certifications. With my STNA being expired is it going to keep me from getting this job? Even if I have all the other certifications and the interview went great?

My employment file must have disappeared when I was applying for licensure. Nobody told me until I inquired about the holdup. Later, after I got my license, I returned to work there and my immediate supervisor from the past did not remember me at all!

My situation was similar, but a little different. How I got through my situation was that I had more than "enough" stuff for my purpose, that I did not need the info from that particular employer. I think you should still pursue this. Don't you have your pay stubs? If so, then try to get a letter from the employer based upon seeing the pay stubs. Worth at least one more try to save some time and money.
