Hello Everyone,
As I had written in previous posts, I am moving in two weeks. I already sent my endorsement application almost two weeks ago and am waiting. I began applying for positions online and have had mostly recruiters calling me. I have not heard much from anyone. Does anyone have any suggestions on hospitals that are good for either PEDS or Women's Health ? Salary? Tuition reimbursement? Retirement plans ? Any advice on the interview process ? I am moving to the New Tampa area off of Bruce B Downs near I-275, 54, 56. I know I am going to have to take travel into consideration as I have been told that there is a lot of traffic, but I am used to it since I am coming from NYC.
Any help from anyone in the area would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Did you request a temporary license? If so you can go here:

We in the Tampa/St Pete area as far as PEDS, All Childrens is big dog in the yard so to speak. Have only driven in the area a hand full of times its about an hour or so from that area on a good day. For womens health I would go with either Tampa General or Bayfront. Bayfront is literally accross the street from All Childrens. TG is closer ie in Tampa vs St Pete for the others.
Tweety would be the best person to give you info as far as driving in that area.

I have to say all these estimates on travel time crack me up. I commute from a house in the thick of New Port Richey (which is a county north of Pinellas/Hillsborough) and it only takes me 50 min from my house. Additionally, the best route is to take the veterans expressway south, onto 275 and then right to All Childrens. I DOES NOT take an hour from North Tampa. I wish you the best of luck.

Hi there! Did you pick a hospital yet? If you're still looking, here is my input! For peds I would check out All Children's or St. Joseph's Childrens...For women's health look at Bayfront or St. Joe's Womens. Bayfront delivers lots of babies and has high-risk OB patients/antepartum and a women's surgical/gyn unit that also is used as postpartum overflow sometimes. St. Joe's has a entire women's hospital and also has the high risk OB. I know Bayfront is a good place to work but honestly I think a lot of the hospitals around here have really good reputations for treating their employees well. Since you're going to be in New Tampa, St. Joe's would def. be easiest to get to. Bayfront & ACH would be about 45 minutes away, when traffic is ok. I live in St. Pete, work at Bayfront and drive to north Tampa for school (USF, off of BBD). The drive from Bayfront to north Tampa isn't the most pleasant in the world by any means and probably isn't something you want to subject yourself to more than necessary.
