Hello Everyone,
I am a little confused. I was wondering how I may take the initial exams without actually enrolling.
I want to take one class just to see how it goes, and assess if EC is for me.
Has anyone else done this, if so please share your experience and the steps to take the first class.
Thanks for any input.

i agree, it would be nice to take just one class to see if it's for you. however, the info i received from excelsior college showed that it costs $65 just for them to review your transcripts to see what classes you need.
i spoke with a representative from the college network. they are a publishing company thru whom you can get your rn thru excelsior college. there have been pro's and con's posted about using the college network and not just going directly thru ec.
however, when i priced the two, the college network came thru with an enormously lower cost. and, the representative showed me the actual study materials they provide. for each class, they provide a 3-ring-type notebook with information prepared by their professors covering the subject matter, including sample tests, etc. i felt it was well presented and you could just use it page-by-page to get thru the course.
i enrolled in ec 4 years ago and wasn't really that impressed with the study materials they provide. they sent an outline of the class, i.e, ethics, and it included a list of recommended books to use as reference. i bought two books online from another student, but i still found it very difficult to glean the info needed.
it doesn't cost anything to visit with the college network. the lady i had was very low-pressure and understood that i needed to check other avenues. i have even e-mailed her with questions and she's replied with the answer.
it would also be nice if you knew someone who had gone thru ec to look at their outlines.
just my thoughts,

You can take the first two, but you would have to be enrolled to take NC 3. You should be able to register for those straight off the website at www.excelsior.edu .
