Help with 40 drugs i have to memorize in 2 weeks! aaargh

hey yall!!! i'm sure this question has already been asked but i couldnt pinpoint axectly what i needed. i have a list of 40 drugs that i have to memorize and everything about them in 2 weeks. im not really sure how to even start the process. i was going to split them up in classifications but that is all i got so far. do you guys think i should go buy the mosbys drug flash cards or should i make them on notecards myself? how did you guys do it??

I am a flash card nut. Everything I need to learn(memorize) I put on flashcards.

I am not taking pharm until next semester, but I do have a method that I use when I have to memorize large volumes of information. It helped in A&P significantly when I had to learn all of the muscles, origins, insertions, actions, etc. Here's what I do.

You have two weeks- 14 days. And 40 drugs. (Divide 40/14 days and you figure that you need to learn 2 or 3 new drugs a day)

On the first day, start off with two or three drugs. Learn them until you KNOW them. On day 2, review the first drugs and then add two or three more. Make sure you have them down pat. Proceed adding new drugs to the old drugs every night. Review it until you KNOW it. Since you are only adding a few new drugs every night, your goal is very easily achieved. Try it and let me know how it goes. I promise it will work!

or you can make a chart. that's what i did. like a line for each drug and a column for class, side effects, nursing implications, dosages, blah blah blah. flashcards sound good too though. just do it how you think you'll learn best.

goodynurse has a great tip - that's how i learned mine, a few each day and KNOW KNOW KNOW them!

I love that! Think about how true that is and how possible it is. Just think of how many songs you know the lyrics too or how many recipes you know. The main thing is not to feel overwhemled. I know that's hard, but looking at it as 2-3 per day, ah shucks, you can do that!
