I was wondering if someone could help me figure out this problem, I do dimensional analysis so please show me how to work this, please???
Thank you
Dopamine (Intropin) is infusing at 15mL/hr. The bag has 200mg/250mL D5W. The client weighs 145lbs. How many mcg/kg/min is the client receiving?

Okay let's give this a try, first get kg from lbs 145/2.2=65.91kg
15ml X 1hr X 200mg X 1000mcg 3000000
1hr... 60min ..250ml...... 1mg.. = 15000 =200mcg/min
After you cancel your labels top and bottom you get mcg/min then divide by kg;
200/65.91= 3.03 mcg/kg/ml
I think that gets it...anyone else see a better way or a screw-up?

I came up with the same answer... 3.03 mcg/kg/min
mcg = 1000 mcg x 200 mg x 15 ml x hr x
kg/min 1 mg........ 250 ml....... hr ....60 min....65.91kg
The 65.01kg belongs w/ the bottom numbers....That's where I used to always mess up.
Thank you so much!!
