HELP!*Direct Entry MSN Advice-UTHSC

Published

I am in the process of applying for the Direct Entry CNL program at UTHSC (Memphis) and I have a few questions regarding admissions! I am currently in my 5th year of college and will be graduating August 12th with my Bachelors in Health Administration. Even though I am graduating August 12th I will be retaking my A&P's and Micro in the Fall. I have already taken these classes but made C's in them my sophomore year. I really screwed up my freshman year due my first time being away from home as well the unexpected death of my best friend only 1 month before I moved. I failed most classes in 2007 with a 1.5 GPA. My cumulative GPA as of right now is a 3.08 and does not include the 3 classes I am enrolled in now (all of which I will have A's in) or the Science classes I will be retaking in the Fall. The deadline for applications is January 15th and I will have just completed those classes a month before. I am wondering whether I should take a chance and wait to send my application until my Sciences are completed and chance missing the deadline, or do I assume they will take into consideration my coursework in progress and risk not being accepted due to my previous Science GPA being too low? In the past 3 years I have made nothing less than a B in any class and it is clear by looking at my progression that I am extremely dedicated to my studies. I have scheduled my TEAS test for early October and will be taking it on campus so that will not be an issue. I am 23 years old and still paying for the mistakes I made when I was 18. I have worked extremely hard to improve my GPA throughout the years and maintained heavy courseloads with at least 18 hours per semester! If anyone could give me any information regarding any of your personal experiences I would greatly appreciate it! I am so stressed out from applying! I would rather take the most challenging classes in the world than have to go through an application process like this! Any words of advice concerning my likeliness of being accepted?

Thanks so much!
