help with diagnosis of "left septic knee"

hi everybody,

i'm new here and need help on a psychosocial paper for "left septic knee". i've looked in my med dictionary and all they have is sepsis...i need also to do a psychosocial paper on how this dx will affect my pt emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically. if anyone has any ideas, i would love to hear them. i am so confused......lol

Left knee infection - cause could range from knee surgery and acquiring an infection as it got expose to pathogens in the health facility to extoxins within the body.

Any diagnosing first requires investigation of the underlying condition. If you are looking for the psychosocial implications of a septic left knee wound then the first thing you need to do is find articles about what a septic knee is, how it is treated and what the course of treatment and healing involves for the patient. One of the best sites to find that kind of information is on eMedicine or you may need to do a search of medical articles. A medical dictionary isn't going to get you enough information. Make a list of the symptoms someone with a septic wound will have, including the psychosocial problems and from that you will develop the nursing problems (nursing diagnoses).
