I have never heard of a licensing company.
If they are legit, all they would do is the exact same thing you would do to initiate a license application, while charging you a fee. I can't imagine how they would expedite the process, since you still need to provide all of the necessary information, sign the forms, authorize release of information from other entities, etc.
I have been licensed in 5 different states. In some the process is more cumbersome than others, but the basics remain the same. Obtain the forms, fill them out completely, provide releases for other necessary information, write lots of checks and wait. The only way to get it done is to start the process.
Good luck!
i recently completed RN license endorsement from New York to Florida. the whole process took approximately one to two months, with NY being one of the only states non-computerized. Just go to the website and follow the instructions. I know it seemed very complex, but actually was not too bad. I did the required CEU class on line, very easy. There is NO need to pay anyone to manage this for you.
I agree with above. I just received my license Monday, only took about a month from start to finish.
1. Fill out the online application, pay fee via credit card.
2. If your state is computerized, access the Nursys website, pay fee for license check. If not, fill out paperwork to have your license recognized in FL. Instructions online with application.
3. Complete CEUs as needed.
4. Purchase fingerprint cards, go to local police station for fingerprinting when they arrive.
5. Mail all follow-up documentation.
6. License arrives very quickly once you have everything turned in.
All together, it cost me about $350-$400, no fees to any middle-man. It's not difficult, not really all that time-consuming, and not worth paying someone else to do, since you have to do most of it yourself anyway.

I am needing a Florida nursing license. I hear the process is lengthy and horrible to go through. Has anyone used the licensing companies out there? Are they for real? Are they worth the money? I need to apply ASAP!!! Please help!
