Help Deciding for Nursing Schools

Nurses General Nursing

Hello,

I'm currently applying for nursing schools and since most of you have already gone through this process I was hoping you can help me decide. I feel pretty overwhelmed because I'm trying to contact people in the schools to ask questions but I can't seem to reach anyone.

I'm from NY, I have all my pre-reqs, a 2.91 GPA and have some volunteer experience.

I would like to apply for acelerated programs, but 2 year-programs will be just fine. What do you suggest? It could be any school across the US. I know applying for anything, there is a certain amount of uncertainty, but is there any schools that you know of with a higher acceptance rate?

You can PM me if you like. (o=

Please let me know.

Can someone give me an honest answer/opinion about the RN program offered at Maric College. I've heard good and bad from that school. Mostly bad. I heard Maric College students are the least likely to be hired. I want the truth. Anyone who has been there please respond to this. Deadline for applying is coming up soon. I've taken the MA program at Maric and I feel like somehow I've made a mistake but I'm not sure whether RN program will turn out the same way. I can't afford a 60k mistake. Right now Im not too worried about the schooling...I'm more worried about Maric's reputation and if what my friend said about maric students not being hired is true .

I went to Maric for the PCAT program aka thee BIGGEST mistake ever, most of my classmates ended up working as a CNA or not even working at all! As for the ADN program, graduates end up finding a job pretty easily, my sister in law and my close friend attended Maric and are now working RN's. I know where you're coming from when you say you hear bad things, I think one of the reasons being that some of the admission reps there are pretty cheesy and don't have a clue of anything in the medical field...they're the ones "representing" our school and leave a bad impression for those who want to apply...

I actually applied for the ADN there, with a few prereqs out the way so I'm not paying an arm and leg for tuition. Good luck with whatever path you choose...

yup, i know a few people who graduated from Maric and they do land some good jobs after they graduate..
