Help with choosing a topic?

Hi everyone,

The assignment is a to write a 4000 word essay about "a current nursing issue" and one of the following concepts:

critical social theory

family

self esteem

ethnicity

growth and development

examples provided are:

do mothers who are IV drug users get treated poorly by nurses in hospitals?

Does being a teenage mother decrease self-esteem

and so fourth.

I am totally STUCK for ideas. I was thinking something about addictions? We also have to interview someone on the "receiving end"- either an addict, someone who was a teenage mom, etc. I can't think of a lot of "current nursing issues"?:bugeyes:

The way I would do it would be to research each one provided a little and see which one has the most information that isn't repeatative (it's hard to write a paper when everywhere you look you get the same info) and which one pops out at you once while your doing your research. I tend to do them this way because I hate having to be forced to write about something that the instructors pick but by doing this I end up finding something that ineterests me.
