Help!! the CES report

World International

Published

I am an international nurse comes from China and my CES has been done by CGFNS currently, but I have a question regarding the evaluation , Please help me figure out.

what is the meaning of the words on the evaluation report??-- "comparable to the completion of a first-level general(registered nurse) diploma program in usa"

This means I do not qulified to take RN exam directly, am I correct?

Here is my brief situation:I graduated from high school in china, then went to a 3-year-nursing school and got the dipoma in nursing. I now have obtained BS of nursing in china, but I did not requre CGFNS to evaluate my BS's transcript. BTW, I got CG certificate in 2005.

Thanks a lot!!

You are qualified to sit for the NCLEX exam in the US, your training is considered the same as the diploma programs that we had in the US. But not the same as the BSN since you never submitted that information to them when they completed your report.

If you were given permission to sit for the CGFNS exam to begin with, then it means that your training was accepted for licensure in the US.

Best of luck on your exam.

You also need to be aware of the fact that the US has been under a retrogression for the past two years and if you have not started the petitioning process for the green card, the date that is current for China is back to 2001; meaning that the wait is going to be longer than 7 years for a chance to work in the US.

Thank you so much!!

You are quite welcome.

I am J2 and I am taking some courses in a college in America, hehe..my ultimate goal is to apply for MSN. So,RN exam is one of the most important steps for the process. But the another big issue I am worried about so much is my nursing degree. I got my ADN when I was in the diploma program by attending some classes and self-studying. I got my BSN degree in a university, which was a 2-year-program for students who have had ASN. hehe...so I am so afraind that American universities will not admit my BS degree in nursing. Sometimes, as soon as I think of this, I feel so frustrated since it seems that it's not possible to study a 4-year-bachalor degree in nursing again. Have you ever seen such a nurse student has this kind of experience? would you please give me some advice? Thanks again!

You will have to have your training evaluated now with the completion of the additional degrees. There is no way to know without them evaluating it. You also need to take the NCLEX exam to be able to get into most of these programs.

But you also need to be aware of the retrogression here that is most certainly going to affect you.

There are many from your country that possess the Master's degree from the US and even with obtaining this degree, things are retrogressed back to 2001 even with the Master's. I expect things to get tighter and not easier. Unfortunately for you, the US goes by country of birth for visas and this is going to affect you greatly if your goal is to work in the US in the future.
